Hello from Vegas
Hello from Las Vegas!
I just came back to the hotel after watching the Knicks play the Pistons in summer league. While I was down there, I even tried my hand at a little commentating. I had fun giving my thoughts but I have to say I still prefer playing for now.
I went to the ESPY’s on Wednesday. Check out the pics in the STAT Shots section. It felt like every New Yorker said hello and wished me luck with the team. They were everywhere. Seth Meyers did a great job as host. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. The Arthur Ashe Award winners were the family of Coach Ed Thomas. What an incredible story!
I am in town to workout and see how the team is doing in Summer League. I did one workout today with my personal trainer and then I met up with Knicks Coach Phil Weber and a couple of guys from the team for round two. I feel great and in good shape.
Peace.
Amar’e

shalom aleichem! i have recently seen your video on you tube about your inspiring visit to the holy land. i myself, a practicing orthodox baal teshuva of over 6 years, was insprired by your inspiration. i would like to suggest that if you really are serious about your interest in spirituality and judaism that you be in contact with either myself or another qualified Rabbi who you could have a continued dialogue with to explore further the truths of judaism and life. i feel that after seeing that video it would be a shame if that initial enthusiasm were to where off, as unfortunately it does for many people who visit the holy land, some of which i know personally.
anyways, i thought i would drop you a line, i guess in the only place i figure you may actually get it, your blog. please feel free to contact me any time if you have questions or simply just want to learn and get deeper into those “roots” that you have been searching for. i think with the right attitude and dedication a person can make very real and meaningful changes in their life and ultimately in the lives of those around them.
you yourself are in a particularly unique position being a basketball star and very well known to many, you have an opportunity here to be very influential, needless to say in a positive way. i think with some serious learning and building your understanding of the deeper truths of judaism and how they filter down the chain of spiritual, and ultimately physical evolution, you can become a very well informed, learned individual and could potentially do very great things with this new found knowledge and spiritual connection, more than im sure you have already done at such a young age thus far.
my email is already attached and if you’d like i can be reached by phone in toronto 416-876-7178 until sept 5th and after that in israel at 054-843-3759. looking forward to hearing great things, even if not personally.
all the best and hatzlacha rabba!

Dear Amare Stoudemire,
I saw a video about you and what you said about Judaism.
I would like to give you some recommendations that will be helpful in the journey of life.
From your video I learn you believe in the Scriptures. I guess from what you told in the video that you are Christian/”Messianic” or just believe in the Jewish Bible.
If you are a Christian/”Messianic” I admonish you to study the website of http://www.netzarim.co.il ..It will prove to you (scholarly research) that the historical Ribi Yehoshua – the Messiah – and his followers Netzarim didn’t practise a new religion, but were observant of the directives in “the books of Moses” non-selectively and were recognized in the Jewish community. That website documents the only way to follow the historical Ribi Yehoshua – the Messiah.
According to the Jewish Bible all of humankind is obligated to keep the directives in the “books of Moses” non-selectively. This you will find proved in a post (“Humankind are required to keep more then “the seven laws of Noah”) in my blog at bloganders (dot) blogspot (dot) com (the post is found in the right menu).
Playing for your basket ball team on Yom Kipur, on Shabat and other Jewish holidays in the Jewish Bible contradicts the “books of Moses”; and thus it contradicts the Will of how the Creator wants you to live.
Feel free to e-mail me (my e-mail address if found at my blog) if you want guidance in how to live in order to please the Creator of the universe.
Take care!

Hi Amare:
I’ve been a huge fan for years! I recently read that you are tracing your Jewish roots. Please do not forget the Lord, Jesus Christ – the Messiah – in your search. It is only through Him that we are saved. There are plenty of Messianic Jews (those who have faith in Christ, as being the son of God).
Don’t forget to give him praise for all your blessings!
Shalom
