Playoffs and Basketball Clinics
We had a tough game last night. Portland is a solid match up for us. We have another game at home before we head to Portland and I think we are in a good position to do well.
I’ve gotten a lot of questions on twitter (@amareisreal) about the clinic video you saw during the game and on TV and I wanted to fill you in on what I’ve been up to. I hosted two basketball clinics and a NBA FIT Workout last week. The first group were from some of the local YMCAs and Boys and Girls Clubs of Arizona. These kids play in the Junior Suns programs and are always great to work with every year. The second group are the first 50 kids who signed up for the Amar’e Stoudemire Youth Basketball Academy.
The Phoenix area camp is June 7-10 (sign up at amarestoudemire.com/youthsports). These kids got to go through the 20 Minute NBA FIT Program. The NBA came up with this fun workout for kids to get healthy. I thought it would be a cool addition to the clinic and camp. Both groups asked me great questions….everything from when I first started to like basketball to which defenders I think are toughest in the league.
I am relaxing today in between our games. I went to practice, stopped by the office and now I am heading to my house to relax.
Peace.
Amar’e
